Originally released in 2000, Citadels has always seen players compete against each other to become Master Builder, all the while enlisting the help and expertise of local citizens to acquire gold to build districts and complete their city.

Citadels Revised Edition repackages the beloved game in a more compact, pocket-sized version. In addition to the box, the old card format has been resized to the standard size, making this edition easy to carry around. Furthermore, the tokens have been replaced with mini-cards, ensuring both easier and more efficient preparation and storage of materials. The gold coins continue to shine in this edition, along with the 3D plastic crown. All this is added to a very accessible price.

In Citadels , players compete to become the kingdom's next Master Builder by building the most impressive medieval city. To do so, players must accumulate gold and secure the services of various characters.
Each player builds his city by playing a series of district cards from his hand that at the end of the game will have a value in points equal to their cost. The game ends at the end of the round in which a player owns seven districts within his city.

The peculiarity of the game, which contains a bluffing component, is in the initial draft in which players pass character cards to each other and choose a character for that round. Each character card has some special abilities, such as stealing a player's gold coins or destroying another player's neighborhood. After the selection phase, the turn phase begins (in which players accumulate resources and build new neighborhoods in their cities), which however does not occur clockwise but in ascending order based on the rank of the character they have chosen.

Contents: 27 Unique Characters, 84 District Cards, 1 Plastic Crown, 22 Plastic Gold Coins, 27 Cards, Character Reminder, 5 Capacity Indicator Cards, 8 Reference Cards and 1 Rulebook.
